Kapolei Honored: Top 100 in Golf Retail

Kapolei Golf Club was recently honored as a 2025 Platinum Award Winner! The Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) annually publishes this prestigious recognition of the finest achievements in golf retail worldwide and the AGM Platinum Awards celebrate the Top 100 golf shops across public, private, resort, and off-course categories.

Kapolei was one of the retail operations that honored that showcase the dedication to excellence in the areas of merchandising, promotional strategies, retail operations, customer service, and excellence in the golf retail industry.

Applications were reviewed by an impartial panel of judges, ensuring that all entries, whether from AGM members or non-members, were evaluated fairly and objectively.

The winners will be honored on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM, during a special ceremony on The Retreat Stage, Hall E at the PGA Show in Orlando, Florida.

Kapolei Hosts Top Collegiate Golfers at the Kapolei Invitational

Kapolei Golf Club recently played host to some of the top collegiate golfers in the country in the 2024 edition of the Kapolei Invitational hosted by The University of Hawai’i men’s golf team. The event played host to 15 teams from around the country to include the host team plus the likes of San Deigo, Texas State, Air Force and eventual team champion Miami of Ohio.

Miami (OH) would shoot a four round team total of -7 to capture a 13 stroke victory over San Deigo.

The host school of University of Hawai’i men’s golf team had a share of the lead after the first two rounds and would finish in third place.

The individual champion was Dane Huddleston from Utah Valley, who shot a three-round total of -6, edging Texas State’s, Sakke Siltala by three shots.

Golfweek Ranks Kapolei Amongst Best Courses You Can Play in Hawaii…Once Again.

Golfweek and their team of golf course raters once again ranked Kapolei Golf Club amongst the Best Courses You Can Play in Hawaii! In the 2024 ranking Golfweek ranked Kapolei as the 13th best course you can play in the Aloha State.

Golfweek’s Best includes the ranking of public-access and private courses. The rankings are for both types of courses, as judged by our nationwide network of raters. The hundreds of members of their course-ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them on 10 criteria on a points basis of 1 through 10. They also file a single, overall rating on each course. Those overall ratings are averaged to produce all Golfweek’s Best course rankings. This specific ranking of the “Best Courses You Can Play in Hawaii” courses that allow public access in some fashion, be it standard daily green fees, through a resort or by staying at an affiliated hotel.

Kapolei Golf Club is no stranger to being included amongst Golfweek’s BEST rankings, as the club consistently is recognized by Golfweek and their rating team. Mahalo Golfweek for the recognition.

Kapolei Golf Club Host Successful Rainbow Wahine Invitational

Kapolei Golf Club recently concluded the hosting of Rainbow Wahine Invitational in October of 2022. Home of the University of Hawaiʻi Rainbow Wahine Golf Team, Kapolei played host to some of the top women’s golf programs in the country. Following four days of competition, Colorado State University was victorious in the event and Sofia Torres from (also from CSU) captured the individual title.

Kapolei Golf Club To Host 2021 LOTTE Championship

KAPOLEI, Oahu, Hawaii, (March 22, 2021) – The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and LOTTE announced today that Kapolei Golf Club in Kapolei, Hawaii will now host the ninth edition of the LOTTE Championship in 2021. The tournament will be held April 14-17 and will feature a field of 144 players competing for a $2 million purse, with $300,000 awarded to the winner.

“We are excited to return to Hawaii and play the 2021 LOTTE Championship at the beautiful Kapolei Golf Club,” said Sean Pyun, the LPGA’s Chief Business Officer in Asia. “This event has been circled on the calendar for many after cancelling in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. We want to thank our partner LOTTE and Kapolei Golf Club for hosting us, as we look forward to showcasing the very best of the LPGA Tour on their beautiful golf course.”

The LPGA Tour returns to Kapolei Golf Club for the first time since it hosted the Ladies Hawaiian Open from 1996-2001. Designed by architect Ted Robinson, best known as the “King of Waterscapes” for his use of water features, Kapolei Golf Club will present fresh opportunities and challenges to a field that includes past champions Brooke Henderson, Cristie Kerr, Minjee Lee, Sei Young Kim and Hawaii’s own, Michelle Wie West. The golf club also hosted the PGA TOUR Champions’ event, the Pacific Links Championship, from 2012-2014.

“It is a great honor to host the 2021 LOTTE Championship at Kapolei Golf Club.  We are happy to work with LOTTE and the LPGA together and look forward to witnessing the LPGA players’ great performance at Kapolei Golf Club,” said Akira Kihara, COO, Kapolei Golf Club.

The LOTTE Championship was previously played at the Ko Olina Golf Club since its debut in 2012. In 2019, Brooke Henderson successfully defended her 2018 championship title and became the first consecutive winner in the tournament’s history. The 2020 LOTTE Championship was cancelled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 LOTTE Championship will follow the COVID-sensitive no-spectator protocol, with broadcast coverage on Golf Channel during all four rounds from 7-11 p.m. EST.
